The Brood Mother Returns

Post by Cyberia » 13 Aug 2009 08:51

[blue="Zarhym ";"http://www.worldofraids.com/wow-blue-tr ... rns.html#0"]She has lurked in her lair and done battle with the many brave adventurers who travelled to that familiar location over the years. Now, in honor of the World of Warcraft 5-year anniversary, the dreaded brood mother Onyxia is being revamped to make a return to the forefront of Azeroth, as part of our big plans for the upcoming 3.2.2 content patch.

This permanent update to Onyxia will convert the dungeon into 10- and 25-player modes. We will be adding new items to Onyxia’s loot table that have the same model as some of the classic loot from this dungeon, like Tier 2 helms, with stats updated to match the current level of content. There will be a special new item too: a normal drake-sized 310% speed flying mount modeled after Onyxia herself called an Onyxia Broodling. We will also be updating the encounter mechanics to be more fitting for modern raiding, but we can guarantee players will get to experience the frightening horror of deep breaths once again.

Then for a limited time, after the 5-year anniversary event officially begins in November, anybody who logs in will receive an Onyxia Brood Whelpling pet.

We’re very excited to bring this classic encounter back to provide a fun new experience for both new and veteran players. Further details will be available in the near future, and we will be setting up the Public Test Realms soon to help test out this fight along with all the new content we have planned for the patch. Keep an eye on the forums for updates![/blue]

I think its great they are re-using some of the old content.
Can't remember the last time I was in Dustwallow.
Too much unused old content.
Just hope they change it in a way that is exciting.

It has been said somewhere, i believe on the wow-europe forums. That they will indeed, make azeroth availeble for lvl 80's...so with lvl 80 content. but they did not know when this might happen. Since they think azeroth is a wasted land for now. since no one is using it :) So they want to re-make azeroth, with lvl 80 stuff. but can't find it atm the blue post.

Is it April 1st already?

Guess this is a good idea, though it feels lazy somehow, especially after the 'yay lets stand in a boring circle and not move til all the bosses are dead' 3.2 patch.

Aye, Expect a "Dives" / "Wipe Club" / "More Dots" / "Minus 50DKP" achievement similar to the Jenkins Title.

Oh great, only ever been to Onyxia as a Healer Priest and Mage before. Now I get to complete the circle and Tank too :)

Tell them to hurry it up, I want to roll on the mount.

Bleh... just another mount I'll be frustrated not to be able to get :x
... except when they make it a huge droprate, and then I'll be frustrated too because then it's not special anymore! :P
(because when this 'new raid' is released, I'll probably just have my first 310% mount - the season holidays one - for a few weeks...)

I wonder what "level 60" players are thinking about this... some, well probably only a few, players like to experience just the old Azeroth without TBC or WotLK. As it sounds, they won't be able to do it in 40-player anymore... (same like Naxx though, I guess)

Damn, was looking forward to soloing her when the next expansion comes :)

Onyxia and BWL are still my fave dungeons (little trash goes a long way to make me happy). I am tempted to resubscribe (and try to find ways to justify it to the g/f) just for this...
