Re: Cataclysm - Digital Download or Boxed?
WotLK was only £15 and the digi dl for CATA is £30 and being unable to work through illness that is a big chunk of money compared to what i was getting paid when LK was released when money was rolling in so i didnt even need to worry what i was spending the easy earned money on.

Thanks to Blizzard to allow accounts to be upgraded already! I just purchased the digital pre-order and the launcher is already preloading some data.
A hint for those who do NOT want to purchase the pre-order (because they want to get a cheaper deal or a collectors edition):
You can set your launcher (of live wow, not the beta) to preload the cataclysm data already! Go to your Config.wtf (maybe also Launcher.wtf to make sure) and change the value of accountType from "LK" to "CT". This tells the launcher to patch to cataclysm level. You can still login with your WotLK account, but are ready to go with cata as soon as you get hold of a key to upgrade your account.
(Note: Changing the setting right now triggers a download of 700MB.)
Blizzard officially appoves of this method:

I imagine there will be an additional massive download over the next few weeks.
Then again, people playing the beta will know how big that download was....
Anyway, I bought the digital download. Mainly because getting a UK version in Germany may deliver it one day late...

Not the case here. As I can see, online shops here have the same priceCyberia wrote:.. and you pay a 25% premium for the priviledge.Zelorra wrote:Well, I think the digital version is much better. You just open the browser, do some clicks and it's over.
But I would gladly pay 5-7 euros for not having to handle boxes and discs, as long as this is only a once in 2 years event

I've pre-ordered the digital version. Although I think that's more due to Vodka than anything else. They really should have opening times for these things, as I have a load of games on Steam that I barely remember buying.

I'm buying the digital version, for my rogue's account that i'm leveling now (atleast if i reach 80 before cata) and that's 100% gonna happen...and i'm hoping *wink wink* that caleen wants to come along to the night opening, to get a boxed version for my account with all my 80's. but that's not 100% sure yet. i just wanne play at 12:00, not want to wait to install things

Re: Cataclysm - Digital Download or Boxed?
I have bought pre order digital. waited until now to decide, but the other option would be: 1 order online-for some reason delivery never arrives next day. even if i pay next day delivery. it has known to get lost for a week. my mobile etc. so dont wnat to risk it.
2: order to pick up in store. now now. have to find time to actually go to shop, and find time to pick it up. then come home sort kids etc while installing. poast experience shows I would not be able to play days after release.
so now I dont have to worry. its bought, will download slowly till then and ready to play on release day. for me it was worth that extra £5.

Yeah I got it digital, even though in Sweden the difference is like 100 kr (about 10 euros).

Maybe I should have ordered digital too...
Just got an e-mail that my preorder will be delivered on wednesday or thursday earliest, since London Heathrow is hidden under 30cm of snow...

I do what I think is right. But I don't think that what I think is right can not be wrong.
