Stuvvie wrote: Your question about the professions is something I not entirely understand, I expect it's just 75 more levels to craft the TBC stuff.
What I mean is that currently skills like weapons and such have a hard cap of 5 times your current level (before racial bonuses etc.), so the maximum for a level 60 character is 300. Professions have fewer limitations on their rate of improvement, but the maximum is still set to 300 - I suppose for the sake of symmetry if nothing else.

Since the new level cap is 70, I assume weapons etc. will have a max skill of 350. But professions can go all the way to 375 for some reason.

Knetter I think commented earlier on that you get upgradable weapons as a blacksmith, well this is it.

More weapons posted by zone in the top link.

Yeah, I posted that link in another section of the forum earlier today. Hid it behind the rest of my text. ;)

The images you posted are the 3 stages of the craftable 1handed sword btw. First 2 stages can be trained at the weaponsmith trainer in IF (and I think in outland somewhere as well). The origin of the plans for the third stage are unknown to me atm.

some random guy posts 492 screenshots, some interesting stuff, some not so interesting.

He seems to be really bad at evaluating items though. Some of the stuff he's saying is equiv to current epics really isn't.

Speaks for itself, specialising yourself has a big prio in TBC, for almost every profession in TBC you can pick a speciality which what you can make more stuff (if you specialise in potion crafting with alchemy you get a chance to create 2 of the same items instead of 1 for example.) and with blacksmithing you get unique stuff that grows with yourself.

Wouldn't surprise me if these all have to be crafted starting with a basic very expensive requirement followed by a smaller source of reagents to upgrade it to level 2 and such.

So let's just assume that the starting patterns are random world drops, the level 2 crafting pattern should either drop in the easy 25 mans or hardcore lvl 70 instances and then scale upwards with 25 man difficulty...that would make sense atleast.

For the weapons (which can indeed only be wielded by the one who crafted them, and can only be crafted by someone with the right speciality), the first 2 stages are vendor trained. The third (and final) stage is of unknown origin so far, and will likely be a lvl 70 instance drop, or the reward from a quest, which can be gotten after the 2nd stage is crafted (which I would consider a very cool option).
Stage 2 requires stage 1 of the weapon as one of the reagents to craft.

Example: http://www.thottbot.com/beta?i=2342. Deep Thunder requires Thunder to craft.

thats correct.

Example for my Axe:

The Planar Edge (stage 1)
5x Primal Might
20x Primal Shadow
6x Hardened Adamantite Bar
6x Felsteel Bar

Black Planar Edge (stage 2)
1x The Planar Edge
12x Primal Nether
6x Felsteel Bar

and stage 3 is unknown.
will be very expensive i think but ill make sure i get it when i ding lvl 70 :)

PS for sword users you can prolly wield both and its a diffrent weapon but both are 1.6 speed :p
Too bad you cant be both axe and sword master :p

Bad news Luth / Horz...

Compare

http://www.thottbot.com/beta?c=Priest

and

http://www.thottbot.com/beta?c=Paladin

Looks like maybe that link was wrong and it's actually a lvl70 Paladin spell after all :(

On the bright side though, we just make Pyr cast it :D

Priests get Mass Dispel though, which has an interesting line in its discription:
This dispel is potent enough to remove Magic effects that are normally undispellable.
