Slide Rule

In the last few days, I somehow got addicted to Slide Rules. Slide Rules are mechanical "calculators", or rather devices to look up the result of calculations. Their theory is rather simple, but their use is a stroke of a genius. Unfortunately the only manufacturer that still produces is some company in Japan... or so I thought.
Turns out Faber-Castell has still some in stock (after 40 years or so!) And there are actually still some specialized slide rules in use even these days: The E6B Flight Computer allows fast multiplication, unit conversion and solving the wind triangle. And there are other versions like the CR-3 which I find even nicer in theory.
I've been trying hard to not spend a ton of money on those toys... :/ But they are so cool! :)
