Hard to tell, at what point is it hanging during the POST. Do you get an image? Hanging on checking SATA devices? Hanging when memory is being checked?

All that happens is the fans start and the graphics card lights up but nothing else the hard drives dont even start.

Does the screen stay black when you boot? But the best thing to do is boot with the minimum of devices connected, for example, disconnect all hard drive, cdrom. just memory cpu en graphic card. See how that goes, if that works start adding 1 device at a time and boot again. Till you find the problem.

On some graphics card you also have some light turn on when booting, you can use those for evaluation too. If you have a spare graphics card, try adding that one?

Hard to tell via a forum what your problem might be.

Most likely a problem with your motherboard. I don't think it's anything PSU or battery related, but it's worth a show trying it with a different PSU. You never know.

Are you getting a beep code?

Try resetting CMOS, remove and clean the connectors on memory/gfx card. I had problems with dust causing this problem before.

I am innocent!

(And unfortunately, I can't help with hardware problems, sorry :( )
I do what I think is right. But I don't think that what I think is right can not be wrong.

don't motherboards have reset jumpers anymore these days? would go a lot quicker then.

try a bios reset once you get in again.

Might be a bad connection from memory for example, or GPU card. anyway, welcome back :p
