A device worn on the head could in squeeze the benefit of eight hours' sleep into just two or three hours.

That's nothing, if you take narcholepsy medicine you can stop sleeping altogether with seemingly no side effects :)

Not sleeping is unhealthy. :)

(Except in some movies, where falling asleep causes monsters to appear and cut you up...name the monster *g*)
