Pretty cool.
I wonder what the current state of virtual reality is by the way. Either with 3d glasses or projectors on the walls. It would be fun to play a 3d shooter where you actually have to run around, like on some sort of gyroscopic running machine that allows you to run and move into different directions without actually moving more than a few dozen centimeters from your spot. Does that exist? Cannot find. It could be the future of gaming, though a little expensive.

There are a few CAVE environments at Disney (mostly for pre-visualization), a coworker of me helped writing part of the software for it. They are more or less single user, and most don't have freedom of movement since the floor is fixed.
There are a few research prototypes that work with conveyor belts of conveyor belts, very high maintenance looking but also very cool :) It is likely not very realistic, since the machinery is noisy, and since the inertia of the human inside the machine is not compensated for. Maybe you've seen this envy-inducing advertisement already :).

Edit: An other cool video of that thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eg8Bh5iI2WY

Yes, that's exactly what I mean! An omni-directional conveyor belt!
The last one seems to slowly move you back to your middle position, also an interesting way of doing it.
I think the effect would be even cooler with 3d VR glasses, so that the image looks really 3D and you don't have to build a complex sphere around you with lots of projectors. You can combine it with headphones so the noise wouldn't bother you either.
If you want to counter inertia, I think you should build the platform on a gyroscopic 360° thing that tilts when you move. Should be possible, but the calculations and sensors in it will require a lot of smartness. Or does Disney Research have some prototype of inertial dampeners available already? :) We're gonna need those if we're planning to continue to discover the solar system anyway.

No way!
I knew that they were smart, but this is just beyond.
Any idea why the bird would do such a thing?

I think it just has fun doing it.

And speaking of having fun doing it:

I like the song "just put some gears on it", but I must say you have a pretty bizarre taste in music!
Cute.

My usual taste in music is more like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1qzm3UUTrg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFkHbDd3qMs

Those are the few "CDs" I actually bought in the last decade or so.

I must say I rather enjoy this type of music. But I mostly listen to house/club myself.
I have literally never ever bought a single CD or music file or whatever. There are plenty radio channels, these days online also many without commercials or talking.
