You were right Dust, the permission to post bbcode was turned off for everyone but administrators ( you / me). Interestingly it seems to store the permissions so it'll only be fixed for post going forward.
Glad you thought of that.. was driving me up the wall .. thought I'd done something to the css / div's somewhere.
