Well the space elevator is nearly impossible due to the dead load of the rope...
( As we know things which get very long can break due to their own weight... )
The material has to be pretty strong ( which i dont want to mathematically estimate atm ) or the profile has to be increased to reduce tensile strentht...
The nuklear pulse propulsion is like the acceleration of the Enterprise from Impulse to Warp with a delay of the antigravitation of 1 nanosecond...
You end as grease spot in your seat

I do speak German! At least, reading usually goes fine, but I always fail to choose the right der/die/das word. But I wonder what you can show me about the universe that I don't already know!

It's nothing to read, it's a professor ( Harald Lesch ) from the munich university, who made a show ( Alpha Centauri ) on a local TV programm, giving lessons about the universe and other things

Looks fun, I'll check it out when I have some time again (could be another month).
I always like watching The Universe from the History Channel, but there's barely ever a show about something I don't know yet.
It's pretty American, but you learn a lot and with all the animations you get a decent idea about what stuff actually looks like.
Anyway, keep us updated about your work and stuff
