Brain Game

http://projecteuler.net/

This page has some interesting problems to solve. I currently solved 4... but I haven't given up yet! :)

Some of those problems are just insane.
In one of them you had to find 2^1000 and the find the sum of all the digits :?
Won't even try to bend my mind enough to solve the first one.

Thats all math, i hate math. Would have ben a lot more fun to play if it was like spacial problems or somthing like that.
A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?

Yes, some are quite tricky :)

I am currently at 11 solutions though. I spent a long time writing a prime number toolkit in lua to solve some of them.

Why LUA? Isn't a script language the wrong choice for number crunching?
(Not that it would probably matter much looking at today's CPU speeds and the fact that a bad algorithm is identified faster...)

My algorithms rock :)

Lua is quite fast for a scripting language. It's not optimal, it would be faster in C (or C++ for stl), but all the problems I have solved so far were very easy computation wise. With the right algorithm.

Current state: 16 solved problems.
